On August 31, 1961 writer, Gore Vidal invited Jackie Kennedy to spend the day with him in Provincetown. At that time, Provincetown was a sleepy fishing village located at the tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Jackie Kennedy was First Lady of the United States and the most famous woman on the planet. Still, she met Gore Vidal at his motel room without any fanfare and managed to blend in with the tourists and others living in the community. They ate dinner at a local restaurant, took in a play at the local playhouse, and after the play were barred from entering a private drinking club. A fictional four act play explores the historical facts of that day and drawing from events taken from their personal lives past and present, gives the audience a front row seat into one day in the life of two of the most fascinating people of the 20th century. Not as the larger than life personifications they presented to the world at their zenith, but as sophisticated real people.
