Author Biography

Boshan (1575-1630) fue uno de los principales maestros chinos de la dinastía Ming. También es llamado monte Bo, como la montaña en la que desarrollaba su actividad. Además, es conocido como Wuyi Yuanli y Dayi. Boshan procedía de Shucheng, al oeste de Nanjing. Abandonó su hogar en la adolescencia y se dedicó al estudio y la práctica del budismo. Recibió la ordenación completa y al cumplir los 30 años, tuvo un gran despertar practicando con el maestro Wuming Huijing. Después de recibir los preceptos del bodhisattva, se dedicó a enseñar en varios monasterios. Fue muy prolífico y dejó varios herederos del Dharma y discípulos laicos.
