Author Biography
The morning after her grandson was born, Faith Pearson wrote he first nursery rhyme for Andrew. She continued to write rhymes for him until he was seven years old. Now retired, the author taught school in rural North Carolina where she has lived since her marriage to Stan Pearson - local businessman, jazz musician, and music instructor. Stan has played an integral part in formatting "The Little Pieces Library," a collection of children's books Faith has written. In preparing "Grandma's Rhythm and Rhymes" for publication, she has made certain that the diverse background of her former students is reflected in the book's illustrations, so that every child is able to experience a sense of belonging. A published writer, among her previous work, "The Demon Pirate of North Carolina," has been highly acclaimed by the Curator, North Carolina Museum of History, Raleigh, North Carolina. The author received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brooklyn College and has done her graduate studies in English Literature and Education at New York University, Cornell University, and East Carolina University.
