Grandpa and Me is based on the relationship between a special needs child and his grandfather's unexpected battle with cancer. The book highlights different changes happening over a course of time which; consequently, have a direct impact on the normal routines between Grandpa and his grandson. Come on a journey and see life through the eyes of a young child with autism trying to understand specific stages of cancer. Takeemah Terrell is a former educator who serves as a teacher mentor. She holds a master's degree in Communication with an emphasis on education and a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She started her book writing journey with inspiration from her son who was diagnosed with moderate autism. As a parent of a child with special needs and a woman of faith, Takeemah found it challenging to help her child understand certain life events. Through her penmanship, she hopes to encourage people to engage in meaningful conversations while helping others process monumental experiences.
