Author Biography

Jane Smiley (1949) is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel A Thousand Acres, and a number of other books. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and received the PEN Center USA Lifetime Achievement Award for Literature, among many other awards and honors.
