by William Shakespeare (Author)

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

?ngel-Luis Pujante's excellent study looks at the confusing and uncertain nature of the tragedy and highlights how its mysterious and thought-provoking elements make it so appealing.

Reading guide by Clara Calvo.

HAMLET, Shakespeare's most well-known play, is actually a piece full of gaps and ambiguities. An enigmatic and mysterious work, in which each character is a master of deception. Hamlet himself is a being in continuous transformation. He embodies formality, courtesy, and reflection, alongside passion, mockery, enigma, and the possibility of madness. In the castle of Elsinore, in an atmosphere that exudes corruption and distrust, claustrophobic and hostile, solemn scenes alternate with ironic twists, while a court of characters stirs, whose ultimate purpose is to lead Hamlet to overcome his internal tension and fulfill the revenge for his father's death. The magnificent study by ?ngel-Luis Pujante that precedes his translation analyzes the incoherent and uncertain nature of the tragedy and places the appeal of such a complex and rich work in that aura of mystery that evokes doubt, requires meditation, and has made it one of the great myths of the West.
