She and her husband, a amateur photographer, visited self-taught artists across the state collecting their work. The artists' stories tell about their lives and their passions to produce creative and innovative art reflecting the places they live.

Author Biography

Barry Gurley Huffman has lived in North Carolina's Catawba Valley for several decades. She and her husband collect Southern pottery and folk art. She illustrated "Catawba Journey" and authored "Catawba Clay: Contemporary Southern Face Jug Makers" and "LaFone Living Art"
