Author Biography
Scotty O'Brien was born in St. Louis in 1973 to parents that began their relationship in the psychiatric ward of a mental hospital where they met as patients. He grew up in a troubled household and spent much of his time alone except for the rare occasions his parents would take him to visit other family. Scotty discovered the Beatles as a kid and quickly became obsessed with music as a means of escape. His love for music led him to the world of DJing; a perfect medium that combined his high energy, ADHD, and love for music. After venturing away from his abusive home life for college, he took to the high seas as a Cruise Director and DJ for several different cruise lines for several years. Upon return to St. Louis, he settled into being an event emcee and entertainer and started his own company. Several years later, he met and then married his wife and they combined their talents to expand his entertainment business to include full event production and design nationwide. Scotty and his wife live outside of St.Louis with their two children and dogs. They have endured the lasting pain of his abusive childhood but have managed to turn things around with the help of a fantastic team of therapists and friends. Together, Scotty, his wife and kids enjoy travel, art, photography, going to concerts (namely Paul McCartney), and spending time with loving family and friends. For them, every day is a step closer to healing from hurt.
