Heartache to Hope is written by Melinda Edwards, who has an intense history of dealing with traumatic issues. Written inside begins with domestic violence and ends with the hope that others can relate and understand that through heartache, hope can triumph. Even through poetry, a story is told and can help through so many social ills. During times of distress, drug use and abuse can become quite an issue. Children suffer the brunt of so many of these issues. I know I have been through the process of healing, as I have also had to heal through the trenches of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as more diagnoses. My hope with Heartache to Hope is that I want others to know there is hope and healing when a coming to terms occurs.
