A look at the Historic Buildings and some of the folks that inhabited Lincoln NM in the Billy the Kid era and the ensuing years. Focuses on the major structures and houses with some comments on the people of the community. Primarily covering the beginning of Lincoln in the early 1850s up to the time the County Seat voted to move in 1912.

Author Biography

Rich Eastwood has been studying his families history for 25 years or more. His grandparents were married in Lincoln County in 1898; they represent all of the elements that contributed to the area. Grandpa was a cowboy from the frontier of Texas. Grandma's father was a French Canadian and her mother was Spanish and Native American. This led to exploring all the folks of early Lincoln County through Church and Civil records and other's family lore. One of his conclusions is that most everybody in the 1900s were somehow related (80% mas o menos). He was born and raised in Southern California, he raised his family by the sea; he started his working career as an automobile trimmer, boat canvas man, military aircraft cover designer and worked as a rocketship builder for JPL. His favorite accomplishments though, are in Christian Education leadership and his most important accomplishment... being Dad.
