The popular Dell Comics series Indian Chief ran from 1950 (as a test issue simply titled The Chief, in the Four-Color series) through 1959, for a total of 33 issues. This volume collects the first issue of The Chief (Four-Color #290), and Indian Chief issues #12, #14, #21, and #27. Stories in these comics portray a life of adventure in a pre-colonial landscape (though with horses, an anachronism we'll ignore), with heros and villains, and dangers from wildlife, weather, and marauders.
