Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are profoundly different in terms of ontology and epistemology, to the diverse worlds of the arts and humanities. So significant are the differences, that when people start talking about the integration of the arts and humanities into STEM, which usually means appropriating the arts, it is necessary to critically examine and question that which is claimed to result: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). The result is a book that reveals many myths and false truth claims, often involving a rewriting of history, which constitutes what is now commonly referred to as misinformation. And the primary source of this misinformation, are people and organisations that speak with the voice of authority by virtue of their standing in society.
