Keeping It Simple! - Paperback

by Anu K. Mani (Author)

At last, a graphic novel series on mathematics! Imagine reading a graphic novel on fractions that weaves in practice as the story unfolds! This book introduces children to fractions in a fun way using everyday examples. At the heart of these books is the well-known philosophy that stories stick. Revisiting topics are important and these stories will be easy to recollect. While some amount of practice is important, grasping of concepts through stories will drastically reduce the need for repeated practice on paper. Practice will happen spontaneously as mathematics is woven into everyday life. This is the second novel in a series of five books on fractions. The den of snakes from the first book return to realize that there are many ways to write a fraction. New characters, a litter of pigs and a giraffe are also introduced. They learn terms such as simple and equivalent fractions through stories that demonstrate practical uses of these fractions. Children will enjoy animated dialog between the characters as they find mathematical solutions to everyday problems.
