Little Bear's Big Night Sky is a simply worded picture book for young children, written by a physicist. It is for children who like the stars, science or discovery. It makes a good bedtime story as the tone is quiet, the astronomical illustrations blue and dreamlike, and the characters drift off to sleep and wonder about their place in the universe. Age recommendation: preschool & kindergarten. Like popular baby book, "On the Day You Were Born," there is additional scientific information in the back for older children or to facilitate further discussion.
