Glenn and Vicky Stover are a retired couple suddenly realizing the isolation, the desperation of too much togetherness as they sit alone on their couch and watch the Oscars on TV. In a pang of guilt, Glenn solemnly promises Vicky that a year from now he and she will be sitting live and in person as bona fide guests at the Oscars in Hollywood. To Vicky's mortification, Glenn begins to plot numerous scenarios to achieve this grand scheme.
