Vincent "Mad Dog" Coll was one of the last of the Irish mob bosses who at one time controlled illegal activities on the streets of New York. Vincent Coll was different from the typical New York mob boss, who was usually mature, middle-aged, battle-scarred veterans of the streets. He was very young when he began a career of violent crime-only a teenager-and only 23 years old when he was killed in a hail of bullets in a Manhattan drugstore. He had become the leader of his own gang and one of the most notorious criminals in New York by the time of his death.
