This book was written by me over a period of years from notes and recollections of a happy childhood. It was written mostly for my kids, grandkids and friends who shared these times. The time was unique and our generation was noted for our hard work, self-sufficiency and patriotism. We came right after the 'greatest generation' and stepped in at an early age to fill the gaps left by those that went to war. Hopefully you will find the book heartwarming and humorous.
