by Robert Moylan (Author)

We often look to sports as a way to escape the frustrations of our lives, but as any golfer knows, your worries follow you onto the greens. Over the years, people have attempted to apply numerous psychological techniques to help golfers improve their mental game to varied levels of success. But now, with the easy-to-follow method of emotional core therapy (ECT), you can simply and effectively identify, process, and release the situational stress that is holding you back on and off the golf course.

In his latest book on ECT, sports psychology counselor Robert A. Moylan, LCPC, presents his eight-step ECT flowchart and breaks down how you can repeatedly use this flexible tool to address whatever is throwing you off-balance in your personal life or on the golf course. As you learn to identify your authentic feelings, you can begin to navigate your way back to mental equilibrium and physical stability.

Whether you're a golfer trying to get your head back in the game or a golf psychologist searching for a better way to help your clients, Mastering the Psychology of Golf with Emotional Core Therapy has the answers you need to step confidently back on the course.

Author Biography

Robert A. Moylan, LCPC, is a sports psychology counselor for a wide variety of athletes and the author of three books on the topic of emotional core therapy. Over the years he's learned that these same techniques can help an even broader range of people outside of the sports world and has helped individuals with different types of mental health issues as well. He grew up on the west side of Chicago with his twelve siblings, raised solely by their mother after their father tragically passed away in a fire. In 1984 he began his career as a teacher after earning his degree from Northwestern University in economics and high school teaching. He later earned a master's degree in history; graduate teaching certificates in learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and cognitively delayed teaching; and a graduate certification in school counseling and supervisory guidance counseling.
