Melvin is the story of a little sandpiper who has had a disability for most of his life. However, Melvin has developed his own special skill. No other sandpiper on the beach has this skill. Melvin's greatest challenge comes when he must make a life or death decision: Should he, with his special skill, attempt to save the bully of the beach, who has been cruel to him, or should he let the bully drown?
Author Biography
Author Kathy Smart resides in Plymouth, Indiana, where she divides her time among creative writing projects, activities dedicated to her love of animals, and music. An avid runner, her writing is often inspired by the many points of interest she sees along the way. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
