An illness, a duel --and even a WhatsApp message-- can hurt us, because they affect us at a point where we are especially fragile. In any case, pain always leaves its mark. Sometimes we keep the memory of him, aware that we are what we are also thanks to him; others, it damages us indelibly, causing reactions that in the long term become dysfunctional and can cause real disorders. Like wounds that do not heal, painful experiences cause other pain and are accompanied by other emotions: fear, anguish, anger. Working from Strategic Therapy with disorders linked to traumatic and painful experiences means specifically intervening in the perceptual-emotional modalities of the person. The objective is to help them, depending on the case, to relocate the events of the past, to manage a distressing present or a future that suddenly loses its meaning, disappears or acquires intolerable overtones of loss. The intervention protocols also allow directing the person towards the structuring of new learning, especially the ability to effectively manage painful emotions and losses, inevitable companions on the path of life.
