This is the long, catalog/marketing description of the product. When exploring Missouri's wildlife, there is so much to learn about, given the thousands of species that inhabit the Show-Me State's forests, savannas, prairies, glades, rivers, and caves. From state fish Channel Catfish and state reptile Three-toed Box Turtle to other stand-outs like Bald Eagle, American White Pelican, and Gray Fox, there are near endless opportunities to connect with landscapes through their attendant animals. Knowing where to start can be a challenge, so it helps to have a portable reference like Missouri Wildlife to cut through the clutter and build a foundation of knowledge based on the most representative species. This beautifully illustrated collection features 140 common and familiar mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishes, butterflies, and other insects as well as an ecoregion map showing over 20 wildlife-viewing hotspots and learning sites. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guide is the ideal companion for educators, learners, naturalists, birders, and wildlife enthusiasts who wish to broaden their understanding of Missouri's animals and the fascinating lives they lead. Made in the USA.
