A child's mind is like a sponge and it is always observing and learning about the world around them. When a child learns about what their body does after it experiences a minor injury, their minds and imaginations go into overdrive. All children fear what they do not understand. Teaching a child about their young body and how they immediately go into repair mode after a minor accident is truly something to behold. My use of highly colorful cartoon-like illustrations to help explain the healing process is priceless. By keeping the healing process simple, they eagerly take it all in. I love to see their eager faces studying every detail of the teaching experience. My stories are field tested at many daycares and have become some of the most requested books to be read at story time every day. A child who has been exposed to this teaching process does not fear as much when they get a minor cut. They know what is actually going on inside their injury.
