Rhona Brasche Villanueva, born 1934 in Tallinn, Estonia in politically restless times, tells of life in Estonia, and their decision to emigrate to Germany before the start of WW II. Rhona shows how she and her mother survived during the war meanwhile her father is a pilot in the German Luftwaffe. She relates her family's move to Santiago, Chile, in search of peace and security. In 1961 she leaves her family and moves to Southern California and eventually settles in Orange County.
