"These poems were written during a time where my family had suffered the greatest loss of my entire 46 years. My closest cousin had been murdered during a domestic dispute. During my grief I was faced with a ton of unresolved acute childhood trauma, horrific flashbacks, and learning to accept and deal with all of it as it presented itself to me. I had also ended a 10- and 1/2-year relationship 2 mos. before my cousin's death, as well as started a new relationship which proved to only add new trauma to all the previous traumas. While I will forever grieve for my cousin, I was able to resolve many conflicts within my emotional sphere and learned many life lessons in just a little over a year and a half. Most of it coming out in my writing as those writings healed a great deal of the fracturing in my mind, giving me further purpose to carry on with my previous work, and to push forward solving some of the mysteries of my childhood, struggles with self-worth, and relationship endings that led me to these writings. Thank you for joining me on this journey in my mind!"
