Author Biography
Rose V. Smith was born in in Richmond. During her childhood, she lived in some the roughest neighborhoods in the city, mostly the housing projects of Hillside Court. After having her first daughter, Jessica at age 20 by future husband and high school sweetheart, Mark she worked hard to move herself and her daughter out of the projects at age 24. At age 27, she married Mark and had their second daughter, Erica. Rose's love for writing began as a child, bloomed as she continued to write poetry & essays, and blossomed during her brief career as a freelance writer for the local newspaper, Richmond Free Press. She also participates in poetry readings at local cafes and library events. My Life Is My Muse is her first published book.
