by James W. Garrett (Author)

New Testament Church Leadership "An examination of the New Testament patterns of church leadership and their application in the contemporary church" The New Testament describes a church government in Jerusalem that transitioned from a council of apostles to a council of elders. The elders council became the model of local church leadership, both among Jews and Gentiles. New Testament Church Leadership examines this pattern and its application in the contemporary church. The comprehensive studies contained in this work are enhanced by the author's over sixty years of experience in church leadership. Chapters include: * Apostles, Then and Now, * Church Planting Transitions, * Biblical Survey of Local Church Government, * The Elders Council, * The Elders' Job Description, * Questions Frequently Asked, * Qualifications for Elders, * How One Becomes an Elder, * The Role of Deacons, * Ordination in the New Testament Church, * Authority: A Biblical Overview, * Contemporary Examples.
