N'Golo's Motif: N'Golo, The Child Slave Who Became King of Ségou - Paperback

Based on historical events that occurred in Ségou, Mali, during the reign of King Biton Coulibaly and Queen Banadjé, N'Golo is traded into servitude by his uncle Yiriba, in exchange of taxes Yiriba owes the King. Yiriba's true motive is to uproot N'Golo from the family to negate a prophesy predicting N'Golo's greatness. Yiriba hopes that in so doing, the prophesy will benefit one of his (Yiriba's) offsprings instead. Events unfold in ways that only a few had the foresight to predict.
