Originally compiled in seven volumes of typescripts, the Bible records have been reassembled here and integrated into a single alphabetical sequence under the names of the principal families. Ranging all over the South, from Maryland to Mississippi, the Bibles reflect a continuity that is often absent in courthouse records and hold great promise in filling some of the lamentable gaps in the genealogy of the South.
