Benito Casados was born in the small village of Parkview, (Los Ojos) in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.

He attended the local schools and graduated from Tierra Amarilla High School.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science at New Mexico State University and his Master of Science at Michigan State University at Lansing, Michigan.

He was a science instructor at Northern New Mexico College at El Rito, New Mexico.

He then served as a Space Science Specialist for eight years with NASA Headquarters.He lectured to hundreds of university and school audiences throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico and South America. He is fluent in Spanish. As the Executive Director for Galaxy Classroom he implemented nationwide an interactive asynchronous TV science for elementary schools.

For ten years, he was the Director of Educational Services, for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, in La Canada, CA. In this capacity he organized educational conferences, space science seminars and created educational publications on NASA planetary missions.

He was one of the founders and served as Vice President of Optical Data Corporation the company that developed and introduced laser disc technology into education by having the first statewide technoogy adoption in the state of Texas.

Governor Deukmejian appointed Ben to the California Educational Commission, in 1994. This commission created the first statewide educational technology plan for the state of California. The California Senate appointed him to the California Education Technology Council. The council assisted school districts with their technology implementation plans. He is a member of various professional organizations.

He edited two eBooks on the Space Shuttle written by Bill Clark. For years he co-authored Ask Andy a syndicated column for young children and authored an eBook "A Parent's Guide for Children" which includes hundreds of question and answers commonly asked by children. He developed and maintains the website www.youaskandy.com

In "One Hispanic Man's Journey" he describes his days growing up in rural New Mexico, his science teaching career, his work with NASA Headquarters, Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada, CA and his work as an entrepreneur in educational technology. He spends time in his vacation home in New Mexico with his wife, Janet, his two daughters and his grandchildren.
