Some adventures take you far away.
The best ones help you understand where you belong.
A thoughtful girl who spends her days watching the river is unexpectedly invited to explore the world beyond her quiet village. With a new companion by her side, she sets off to discover other places - busy towns, noisy streets, sleepy settlements, and moments that feel exciting, confusing, and sometimes a little lonely.
As the journey unfolds, she begins to notice something curious: not every place feels right, and not everyone wants the same things. Some places are louder, taller, faster - and some feel strangely empty. And slowly, gently, she learns that seeing the world can change how you understand home.
Other Places is a warm, gentle chapter book about curiosity, friendship, and the comfort of returning. Written to be read aloud or enjoyed independently, it's a calm, thoughtful story for children who like to wonder - and for adults who remember what that feels like.
