REALM PORTALS Portal One: Celtic Otherworld Enter the Immortals / The Missing Element Imagine you are a child. Imagine you see your parents murdered. Imagine you are found by a stranger and you are raised and trained by the very type of people who murdered your parents. But you have a secret. You have become the most powerful martial arts assassin the world has ever seen. What would you imagine then? "The Missing Element" is a fantastic retelling of a surreal adventure you encountered on your way back to America. Believing it to be only a dream, you recount to your student and friend the magical adventure of being propelled into a dimensional plane by an unknown power where magic rules, fairies live, and goblins kill. Unknown to any of the inhabitants, the Celestial worlds are also shaken as the Morning Star and his demon forces are preparing to overtake the Sidhe and gain control over the entire Otherworld. Only your skills as a master assassin and survivalist keep you alive as you encounter many strange and lethal creatures of this magical realm. Evil Sirens and Dark Faes await you as you travel through this enchanting realm trying to find your way back to the human world. Unknown to anyone, the Prince of Evil has his own plan and the dark faes are nowhere in it. Your supreme skills and the explosive powers of the Sidhe are put to the test as the vile goblins continue to attack as a preemptive strike before the Morning Star and his demonic forces move in. But there is one thing he did not account for. You. You realize that the Dark Prince will hold off his most powerful assault until the end after everyone is beaten down enough to offer him as little resistance as possible. But again he makes a fatal mistake. He assumes that the battle will be a victory. You witness the two eldest daughters of the Mother Queen, their eyes glowing with the brightest blue you have ever seen, sacrifice themselves in an attempt to destroy the remaining goblin horde. With nothing more you can do, you stand atop the supreme castle with the remaining faes and watch as the Elemental Queens make a last attempt to keep the Morning Star and his forces from taking over their world. You quickly snap your head to the Heavens as a sudden thunderous explosion rocks the sky and the veils of the dimension planes are ripped apart. You witness something that no human eyes have ever seen as the final battle comes to an end. Then everything goes black. You wake up in a rustic dwelling and make your way back home to recount this fantastic tale to your friend and student some years later, only to realize that your dream may not have been a dream at all. Strange things start to happen in your home and even your powerful insight cannot explain them. You look at the two female companions of you and your student, and notice their eyes are glowing with the brightest blue that you have seen only once before. What would you imagine then.....? The adventure begins.
Author Biography
HALF IRISH AT BEST Since creative writing class in high school and another literature course in collage, I have always loved telling a story. My writing has helped me to escape the everyday despondency of trying to exist in a world where the world doesn't seem to care if you exist at all. If I can help anyone do that, then my job as a writer is well done. While researching my ancestry, I was thrown into a world of magic thoughts by the Celtic/Irish lore. Now, I'm not going to tell you that I believe in fairies and the like, however just the mere prospect of the idea intrigued me immensely. I studied the martial arts as a younger man and have already written three full length novels about the main character in the book you are about to read (keeping first three secret for now). I dug deeper and deeper into the ancient Celtic lore. So much so that I was compelled to mix my characters into a new and more exciting story. Growing up a Roman Catholic and marrying into a Pentecostal family, was to say the least, quite diverse. However religion and theology have always played a huge part of my life. Even more exciting than studying the ancient lore of the Celts. I have had these stories written for many years. The one you are about to read has an original file date of 1989. I didn't put it under a copyright until 2008. The original three books I wrote in the early 1980's, and put under copyright in 2005. Here it is, almost 2017 and I'm just now getting the urge to publish. These books were never meant to be seen except by a certain select few. In a personal move I had the manuscript made into three hardback books. My son took one to his high school and it was passed around from student to student. The response was amazing. So much so, I decided to try to publish. I actually had one ask me when the video game was coming out! "Hold on my friend, got to get published first." Postings on social media have also had positive results. I have posted my works for years in DeviantArt. Lately, Facebook and my own blog on WordPress. Again meeting with many positive responses. In the Realm Portals series I am writing, I have included all aspects of what my life has led me to so far. Religion, martial arts, and the love of Irish lore. Mixing all three was a task but well worth the effort. I hope you enjoy this first of three in the Celtic Otherworld portal as much as I do, and it leaves you in wanting to find out what happens next. --David
