This volume examines proof texts generally misused by churches of Christ, the religious background of the author, and the field of his work for over a half century. All religious groups and people misuse proof texts by using them outside the contexts of the passages where they occur. This includes the churches of Christ of the author's background, and sadly, it surely includes the author himself. In fact, due to the amount of teaching he's done over the last half century, he's surely misused more passages of scripture than the vast majority of others.
