by Kris Valdez (Author)

Marketing strikes fear in the heart of most home-based business owners. Because they have no idea where to begin, the majority of people would rather visit the dentist for a root canal than start working on their marketing strategy. They could start with placing an advertisement here and there or making the dreaded cold calls or putting themselves out there at a networking event. But while these are all pieces of marketing, none of them encompass marketing. The purpose of marketing is to stand out. The cry of every business is, remember me? This book shows you how.

Author Biography

After self-publishing my first illustrated book in the fourth grade, by using paper covered cardboard and string, I was hooked on writing. At my high school graduation, I predicted I would have my first novel published by the time I was 30. While I don't have my first novel published yet, my nonfiction book, Open Space Preservation: The History and Practice of the Colorado Front Range was published in August 2010. I have owned and operated my own consulting business since 2003. Prior to opening my company, I've worked professionally in the public as well as private sector since 1997. My experience working with the media, making public presentations, facilitating groups, as well as building working relationships all with my sense of humor intact taught me how to be a great listener who creates successful results. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Colorado in Denver.
