On 24th of February 2022, Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine from multiple directions, attempting to take over the country and its leadership. In this story, I wanted to show the struggles of ordinary Ukrainian people as a result of this cruel and unjust war. The characters in this book are entirely fictional, but their personal journeys are similar to what many Ukrainian citizens have been going through and were based on many of the real events that had occurred.

The events in this book take place during the first 5 weeks of the invasion and are set in several Ukrainian cities, mainly Kyiv (including the Bucha suburb), Mykolaiv, Mariupol, Kherson and Kharkiv.

This story is about overcoming hardships at the most difficult time, about finding the light to overcome the darkness.

All the royalties earned from sales of this book will be donated to supporting Ukraine through the UNITED24 organisation. I chose to donate through UNITED24 as the money donated through it goes directly to Ukraine and does not get held up anywhere else.
