Sable Island is called the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" for a very good reason. Hundreds of ships have wrecked on the island and it's treacherous sand bars over the past four hundred years. One of those ships was L'Africaine, a french frigate that carried a treasure in gold, silver and gems.

Brian and Maria are fictional characters who learn about the ten tons of gold, crates of silver and bushels of emeralds which L'Africaine really did carry in May 1822, when the ship struck the infamous 'Island of Sand'. They start with nothing but a clever idea for the salvage of the treasure and a deep desire to change their lives. Their action-packed adventures allow their wishes to be fulfilled in ways neither could ever have expected.
