by D. J. Bershaw (Author)

Hitler dies from a single bullet to the head in 1942 during the Battle of Stalingrad, months after the Fall of Moscow and the execution of Stalin and his cronies. Occupied with the war in the Pacific, the United States sends only aid to the British, but no troops. The isolationists and stateside business interests have kept US forces from the Continent, and Heinrich Himmler's unexpected heart attack brings the Holocaust to a halt before it begins. The Gestapo, however, still hunts for opposition and unrest. The White Rose is very much on their radar, and they slowly close in on Sophie Scholl, her brother Hans, and the other members of the student group. The war in Europe may have a very different outcome, but the ending of The White Rose may be the same.

Author Biography

D. J. Bershaw is a reclusive person who lives in the forested fastness of the Pacific Northwest with a long-suffering spouse and a number of eccentric and troublesome animals. He has not had the usual myriad of jobs which most authors seem to have had, and as a result is quite uninteresting. He is, however, pretty darned accurate from the free throw line.
