Ensongo High School, under the headship of 'Preacherman' Ogeng'o, is a model for the neighborhood until, under pressure, the administration admits one Rix Opuru. The arrogant Opuru uses his privileged background to lure other students into his wayward behavior. On the last term of the last year in the millennium, Opuru plans a 'Grand End of Year Ball' in the woods near the school.
