Six stories, all in the first person, about loss and how the character deals with it. Some are humorous, some sad, and some very introspective. The characters range from a thirteen-year-old boy to a 67-year-old teacher facing his last day of teaching. In between are a jazz musician, a husband who has lost his faith in his wife, a college student dealing with both a first love and a first lust, and a writer facing the middle of his life and the end of his career.
