Author Biography
Dr. Alvarez specializes in laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (commonly called the Vertical Sleeve). It is the only surgery he performs and has international recognition as one of only 11 bariatric surgeons world-wide with the designation of "Surgeon of Excellence" by the Surgical Review Corporation (an independent review board). Having performed over 10,000 gastric sleeve surgeries, he was written up in Newsweek as a "leader in health care", featured on ABC News, and has over 1 million views of his YouTube videos on the Gastric Sleeve.
