Author Biography
The author and his "still new bride" now make their home in Bozeman, Montana. For many years they lived near the mouth of the Gallatin Canyon, their backyard was the Gallatin National Forest. For over twenty years they traveled throughout the alpine country just to the south of their home, by foot or horseback in the summer, cross country skies in the winter. During their proximitry to the mountainous terrain of the Gallatin National Forest, they we able to visit many of the drainages in the Madison, Gallatin and Absoroka mountain ranges. The scenery, lakes, streams, flora and fauna called them back many times. This book describes how horses were an integral part of their travels.
