Author Biography
H. JEROME ALTER has finally decided to organize the recollections of his experiences to produce an eclectic grouping of short stories, which he is confident will gratify and stimulate his readers. He strives to construct tales which will keep their attention riveted. His early years were spent in New York City and New Jersey. He was educated at NYU, Brooklyn College, and Columbia University. Mr. Alter was a professional musician, and a teacher in the New York City Schools. Upon retirement, he moved to rural New Mexico with his wife and two children. He built a home on twenty acres atop a mesa overlooking a mountain valley. His principal avocation has been adventure travel. He has visited more than 140 countries on all continents, including both polar regions. Mr. Alter enjoys gardening, landscape architecture, musical activities, photography, and rambling in the nearby Mogollon Mountains. In addition to his wide experiences, his talent as a keen observer of human nature has equipped him to tell his stories in this book.
