The Evening Electricity Forgot to Flow
Trim 8.5 × 8.5 in - 32 pp - Full-color picture book - Ages 3-7 - STEM / Electricity & Circuits
When Cali's cat-shaped lamp blinks out and her socks refuse to crackle, she discovers that the Spirit of Electricity has overslept! With a tool belt full of wires, goggles perched on her nose, and a brain buzzing with ideas, Cali races across town to the silent substation. From building a doorbell-sized buzzer to closing a giant breaker switch, she shows that a little curiosity-and a lot of problem-solving-can light up the darkest night.
Told in playful verse and illuminated with vintage watercolor-gouache artwork, this story sneaks in the basics of circuits, conductivity, and troubleshooting while celebrating perseverance and imagination. Perfect for read-aloud time at home, in classrooms, or anywhere young engineers like to tinker.
