After the struggles of her childhood, she had married her college sweetheart and moved 3,000 miles from her western roots to the east coast to start a new life. They had built their dream home and become leaders in their church and schools. Then began a series of trials that shook her world. She suffered a clinical depression, her son flunked out of college, the elder of her two daughters and her son-in-law began doing drugs and established a hippie commune before he left her to seek spiritual enlightenment in India.
