Five twelve year old, eighth grade boys, inseparable friends who seek adventure, find it. Their life experiences from 1935 through World War II are their story. The boys and their families lived in a small semi-industrial town in central Massachusetts. The neighborhood they lived in was comprised of first generation citizens of Italian extraction. The "Great Depression" of the early 1930's was in full force. The failed economy affected the lives of the boys and their families. Hardship, deception, intrigue, adventure, love and war was part of the lives of the boys and their families.
