Author Biography

Prosper Buranelli, F. Gregory Hartswick, and Margaret Petherbridge were the original pioneers of the crossword puzzle book in 1924. Without their contributions, the modern crossword puzzle may not exist.

Michelle Arnot's hobby of constructing crosswords became a livelihood. She constructed her first puzzle for The New York Times and then held a series of jobs in the puzzle field.
