In this research, computer scientist and psychologist Mariana Bozesan explores the phenomenon of becoming a consciousness leader within a business environment. Consciousness leaders are people who have evolved to postconventional levels of interior development and are engaged in globally sustainable wealth creation for the benefit of all. The presented research employs Wilber's integral map of consciousness and the newly designed qualitative method named heuristic structuralism. The nature, meaning, and cause of transformative experiences of the researched executives-from companies such as Coca Cola, Colgate, Palmolive, and major venture capital firms-have been investigated along with the structural impact over time. The exploration of becoming a consciousness leader has not only revealed the interiority of exceptional leaders, but it supports a paradigm shift in leadership, business, and capitalism in general. This understanding provides encouragement, inspiration, and hope to those who are actively involved with wealth creation in a business environment as well as to those who struggle to live a life of meaning within the same context.

Author Biography

A venture philanthropist and serial social entrepreneur, Dr. Bozesan is a researcher and leadership strategist on Integral Business, Venture Philanthropy, and the psychology of Consciousness Leadership. She is an inspiring public speaker, futurist, and lecturer at renowned organizations such as Stanford University. Mariana is furthermore a high-tech and clean-tech investor and the founder of four social businesses including the Consciousness Leadership Institute that currently support more than 38 humanitarian organizations worldwide. As a humanitarian, Mariana is member of the Founders Council of The Chopra Founda- tion, advisory board member of The Spiritual Alliance to Stop Intimate Violence (SAIV), the International Foundation for Science and Technology (iFEST ), and founder of The Bozesan Foundation. Educated at Stanford University and KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany), Mariana holds an M.S. degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science from KIT. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from ITP in Palo Alto. Through her Consciousness Leadership model, she advocates ecologically sustainable human development, socially responsible business practices, and conscious capitalism that bridge personal and professional fulfillment with global sustainability. Dr. Bozesan is at home in the world, was born and raised in Romania, and is fluent in five European languages. She is an experienced meditator, a marathon runner, an open water diver, and a globetrotter. She loves people, the arts, classical music, and enjoys singing and painting. She lives with her husband, son, parents, and pets in a three generations household in Bavaria, Germany.
