Author Biography
Missy Kavanaugh is a teaching artist based in Florida's Tampa Bay area. Her professional writing experience includes a board-book animal series, writing for travel publications and creating Web content and social media campaigns for clients throughout the United States and Canada. A former artist-in-residence for various arts organizations, Missy is dedicated to infusing the arts into everyday curriculum, believing that a student's love of learning and cultural literacy are just as vital to his or her success as comprehensive test scores. She adheres to the progressive beliefs of such experts as Richard Florida and Howard Gardner-that embracing and teaching in alignment with a student's natural learning style will make tomorrow's leaders more competitive in the new global market, in which creativity and innovative solutions are more valued than ever. Missy lives in Clearwater with her daughter Savannah. Also based in Florida's Tampa Bay area, Kim Kramer is a multi-faceted artist adept in a variety of media-watercolor being her favorite. A graphic designer by trade, Kim has won no less than four Addy awards during her career. Her exceptional talent is evident in her charcoal, watercolor and acrylic works depicting still life, the human condition and breathtaking landscapes of Florida's coastline. Kim lives in Tampa with her husband Erwin and her son Logan.
