After his parents passing, Mahdi was taken in by his grandma. His grandma fed him and dressed him well.Though his grandma didn't have much, and all her income was based on fruits that she used to sell in the market, he always looked like someone who came from a wealthy family. Mahdi, 8 years old, was asked by his grandma, to buy two eggs for her from the neighborhood store. On his back home, a militia gang known as "Belo" snatched him. They thought he came from a wealthy family and they wanted a ransom from his family. This is an ordeal of a courageous and brave young boy.

Author Biography

Farah Mohamed is a short story author, novelist, and poet, both English and his native (Somali) languages. For more than ten years, Farah worked with refugees and immigrant communities in the United States; particularly Somalis and other minorities in the Washington metropolitan area. Even though he had shown keen interest in reading and writing, since his childhood, has been deeply inspired by the refugee stories and the continue social strive of his native homeland.
