The exposition of this book is almost totally bases on archival sources, namely the correspondence of the contemporary missionaries, the reports, etc., that makes the work original and authentic. By situating mission against the problems faced by mission at that time, the author invites to probe into the difficulties missionaries faced to propagate the faith to the downtrodden tribals and Dalits. It is a meritorious contribution to the ongoing study of the history of religious communities who were committed to the propagation of faith.
