by Patrick K. Bauman (Author)
William Davidson was born in Delaware in 1747. He became a pioneer settler when he migrated to southwestern Pennsylvania at the age of 20 and built a log cabin on the frontier. In 1778, he served in the Pennsylvania Militia during the Revolutionary War. He later floated down the Ohio River on a keelboat to settle on unbroken land in the Northwest Territory. This true account of William "Ranger" Davidson is based on available records assembled through years of painstaking research. This book reveals many previously unknown details of his life and corrects several inaccuracies recorded by others. All sources are fully cited.
